LVNRV provides free, confidential instruction to adults at public locations throughout the New River Valley and online. We have a learning center at 195 West Main Street in Christiansburg.

PLEASE NOTE that we are not accepting applications until November 2023!

To be eligible to participate in our programs, you must:

• Be 18 or older

• Live in the New River Valley of Virginia

• Agree to meet with your tutor or attend class at least once a week for a minimum of one hour

One to one and small group tutoring is available in a variety of subjects to help you achieve your goals:

• Basic reading, writing and math

• Preparation for exams such as the GED, driver’s license, US citizenship, tests for work, etc.

• Basic computer skills

• English for speakers of other languages (beginner and intermediate level students)

Classes for English language learners:

• We offer multi-level English classes at various locations and times throughout the New River Valley.

For English language learners, one-to-one and group tutoring is for learners with low English skills. If you have some English but are looking to improve, a class will be more appropriate (click application below)
